The Advantages of Virtual Networking

Multiple studies have shown that most women find that in-person networking is a critical component in their career advancement. Unfortunately, with the pandemic, traditional networking has been paused. But that doesn’t mean that one needs to stop connecting with influentials or growing her own professional network. That’s where virtual networking comes in. In a nutshell, virtual networking is simply using social media as your networking platform.

Here are three key benefits associated with this business-enhancement tool:

  • When done consistently and strategically, virtual networking can be just as successful – if not more successful – than traditional networking.
  • You can quantify your targets at your own pace. You can filter connections; conduct research; and investigate and leverage common connections. Your time is used more efficiently and strategically as a result.
  • You can network from your home office with anyone in any part of the world. You’re not limited by your physical space. The hidden bonus: the broader your defined network reach is, the greater the opportunity for you to achieve your objective.

Virtual networking has worked tremendously for me. I have generated tens of thousands of dollars in revenue; booked multiple press interviews for myself and my clients; and have spoken at such prestigious venues as the Pentagon – all because of virtual networking.

At my upcoming AWC presentation on “The Art of Virtual Networking,” I will focus on the three platforms that have provided me with the greatest professional benefits: LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. The discussion will provide practical and actionable information that all attendees – whether they are seasoned professionals or junior employees – can immediately implement into their business models. Regardless of the pandemic, this presentation will provide you with the information and tools that will contribute to your ongoing professional success
