A Clarion Award winner herself, Peggy Fleming has worked mainly in the financial services industry for over 35 years in various capacities such as technical writer, communication director, and social media manager . Recently retired, she volunteers her skills to community organizations. She’s a blogger and 2023 co-chair of the AWC Clarion Awards.
Peggy earned her BA in Journalism from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa where she belonged to the student chapter of Women in Communications, Inc. (now AWC). While working as a technical writer at The Principal Financial Group, Peggy helped to found a local chapter of the Society for Technical Communications. Returning to AWC in 2007, she has served in many board positions including Chapter President, National Board of Directors, and Secretary of the AWC Advancement Fund.
