Molly Hall is a veteran communications professional whose career includes award-winning multi-media journalism, corporate and non-profit communications. Her passion is educating through stories, helping people better know and understand their communities and world - and issues that affect them - to be informed citizens.
Molly spent 14 years in radio and television news, then a few years in government communications before becoming spokesperson for a large electric and natural gas utility. While there, she took a leadership role on a diverse industry task force that created Safe Electricity, which became the flagship program of the Energy Education Council (EEC).
Hall was persuaded to run the program and became EEC’s executive director in 2002. She is a graduate of the Institute of Organizational Management (IOM) and a Certified Association Executive (CAE). Molly grew the Council from a statewide to national organization and retired this spring. After a break, she looks forward to the next chapter in her career.
Hall has taken leadership roles in her volunteer board work as well, serving in various positions including president of the Illinois News Broadcasters Association, Illinois Society of Association Executives and others. A long-time member of AWC, Hall has held several leadership positions in the Springfield, IL chapter including president.
She is eager to use some time and energy serving on the AWC National Board. Her goals include growing awareness of AWC’s attributes and tremendous membership value, and in turn, grow the network of professionals that benefit from AWC and each other.
