Anikia Brown is a skilled marketing and communications strategist with 9 years of association management experience. Currently as the Marketing and Communications Manager for the National League for Nursing (NLN), she supports 40,000 individual and 1,200 institutional members, comprising nursing education programs across higher education and health care. At NLN, she leads the strategic planning and execution of all marketing and communications efforts including, brand awareness, digital engagement, and membership recruitment and engagement.
Previously, she served as the Marketing Manager of the American Psychological Association (APA)’s Annual Convention, APA’s annual event that hosts over 10,000 professional and student psychologists. Prior to that, Anikia worked at the American Nurses Association (ANA) as a Senior Marketing Specialist where she provided strategic marketing and communications guidance to help develop and implement key ANA programs and initiatives.
Anikia is an active association leader. As a member of the American Society for Association Executives (ASAE), she sits on Young Professional Advisory Council and was selected as a 2020-2022 Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) Scholar. Most recently she was recognized as Association’s Forum’s 2020 Forty Under 40 Award recipient.
Furthermore, she is also an active member of the Association for Women in Communications (AWC) where she founded the AWC Washington DC Metro Chapter and serves as chapter President.
Anikia received her Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a concentration of Marketing from Howard University, and a Master of Science in Public Relations Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
