is passionate about the Association for Women in Communications. She attended her first AWC National Conference in 2013. When she joined the Bloomington-Normal Professional AWC chapter, she was tapped to be Student Scholarship Chair.
Seeking to extend her AWC professional networking experience to other ISU students, she secured a faculty advisor and worked to re-establish the ISU AWC registered student organization in April 2014. Allison served as the first chapter president, her Junior year of college and served as past-president on the board her Senior year. Allison is currently the Student Outreach Committee Chair for AWC National.
In the past, she had internships with the ISU School of Communication Promotions and Development team, ISU Sports Marketing Department, and University of Illinois-Springfield (UIS) Illinois Public News organization (central Illinois NPR). Her professional experience includes working as a student researcher in the Social Media Analytics Command Center for the School of Communication, an ISU Student Ambassador, and a student researcher for the UIS Survey Research Office. Currently, Allison interns with Weber Shandwick in Chicago working with company clients and learning about team management.
A life-long resident of central Illinois, Allison recently relocated to Chicago for her internship with Weber Shandwick.
