Mitzie Zerr's career has spanned over 30-years in the utility industry where she has worked in a variety of areas, including marketing, communications, and her current position in economic development.
She is the primary contact for Springfield’s industrial parks and business customers providing industry news and assistance with utility-related requests.  Through a partnership with city, county and chamber staff, the team coordinates business retention, expansion and workforce initiatives.
Mitzie has been an active member of AWC since 1993. In addition to her work with AWC on the local and national level, Mitzie has served on a number of community boards. She is most active with the Chamber of Commerce and other committees promoting business growth and development. Her honors include the Springfield Business Journal’s Most Influential Women award and AWC Star Award.
Mitzie and her husband live in southwest Missouri where she enjoys reading, baking and outdoor water sports. She is also the proud mother of a son and daughter who reside in the Kansas City area.
