2009 Judge Selection Criteria

Please review the following 2009 Judge Selection Criteria to make sure you are eligible for judging the 2009 Clarion Awards Competition. Judges must:

  1. Submit an application by April 6, 2009.

  2. Have at least 10 years of professional experience or hold a master’s degree in a relevant discipline.

  3. Have routine access to e-mail.

  4. Agree to have her/his bio and photo posted on the AWC website acknowledging her/his role as a judge

  5. Agree to be recognized (attendance is encouraged, but not required) at the annual Matrix & Clarion Reception and Dinner – Oct. 15-17, 2009 in Seattle, Washington.

  6. Judges will receive entries, sorted by category, by May 12, 2009, and will be required to complete the judging and submit to AWC headquarters the list of winning entries for each category by June 9, 2009. Judges may select one winning entry per category. If a judge determines that no award is merited for a category, an explanation, evaluation materials and the actual entries must be returned to AWC headquarters.

  7. Agree to provide written feedback to all entrants who have included a self-addressed, stamped envelope with their entry

  8. Mail the winning entries to AWC headquarters.

If you meet all of the above criteria, please complete the 2009 Clarion Judge Application to be considered for a judging position in the 2009 Clarion Awards Competition. Please complete the application (which can be typed in) and either email to clarion@womcom.org, print and fax to (703) 342-4311 or print and mail to The Association for Women in Communications, 3337 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.
